Discriminatory ad on the astrojob posting site

So I was perusing the AAS Job Register late one night in the lab, hoping for some end-of-the-season faculty listings. Came across a small liberal arts college in Chicago (big city, check), looking for a physics professor (check) who's excellent in teaching & scholarship (check). Then there's the line, "Wassamatta College is an evangelical Protestant Christian liberal arts college whose faculty and staff affirm a Statement of Faith and adhere to lifestyle expectations."

That means no dykes, right? Google, google.... Yes, it does. Though pre-marital sex, porn, and adultery are also banned, along with unsupervised dancing -- so at least no one else would be having any fun.

Ah, well, moving on....

Did you change the name of the College? If that’s the name of the place as published, Wassamatta? it’s gotta be a Poe.

Obviously such discrimination is legal, but I'm surprised and disappointed that the AAS endorses it by hosting such ads. Especially in light of Article X of the AAS Constitution (search in the page for "non-discrimination") which reads in part:

...the AAS is committed to the philosophy of equality of opportunity and treatment for all members, regardless of gender, race, ethnic origin, religion, age, marital status, sexual orientation, disabilities, or any other reason not related to scientific merit.

I guess "equality of opportunity" doesn't extend to "we won't host discriminatory job ads", huh?

To clarify: the institution was Wheaton College.

"Wassamata U". is from Rocky & Bullwinkle cartoons -- it's where Bullwinkle was a football hero. (School song: "Hail Wassamata Hail, betta we should be in jail, Hey Wassamata U.")
